Web Design
20 Years of Online Graphics
From digital web ads, splash pages and online tutorials supporting corporate telecom work in the early 2000's, to my current work in education designing for social media platforms, you'll see a wide range of styling and content, always done professionally.
Icons & Logos
Branding & Identity
I appreciate the challenge of communicating a business, company or person's identity in a single, small image. I feel comfortable not only encapsulating a business pursuit in a graphical image, but also capturing the emotion, feel and passion driving the business owner.
While not holding as much weight as a logo, creating icons in support of navigation is a type of graphic design I've handled as part of a web development team. It is a key part of navigation, helping people move through a website to get to the content they need.
Social Media
& Email Marketing
Online Commications Specialist
From Youtube and Twitter, to Facebook, Instagram and on to Pinterest, I've had close to 10 years' experience helping non-profits, small businesses and government/public education organizations in their efforts to reach audiences through new digital marketing platforms as they became the 'new medium' to tackle (whether social media apps or email marketing software, like Constant Contact , MailChimp or Campaigner). I love technology and learning new applications for communication, so if this is one of your needs feel free to contact me using the connect form on this site. I am shifting from full-time work to a home-based business due to COVID, focusing on social media outreach for non-profits and small businesses in Sonoma County.

Site Structure & Documentation
Navigation is one part of site design I've excelled at as part of a web development team. It is a key part of helping people move through a website to get to the content they need. Documenting the planned user experience is also key, but won't help unless you then track the actual journey they take through your content to improve and modify the pathways customers can follow.
Digital Art
Fun with Illustrator
Adobe Ilustrator has been the application I like using the most for creating digital art. I'm currently working on several children's books, finishing up with my alphabet book of rhyming poetry. Dr. Suess had a strong influence on me as a child, but I've always known my secret super power was rhyming with humor and generating accompanying imagery. Seeking a publisher as soon as I complete letter Z!
Photography
A hobby that provides a glimpse into my design perspective
Photography is more of a personal hobby of mine. But I like to think that part of what makes a good designer is showing others how you might see things differently, including through the lens of a camera: light playing on water, shadows from hidden objects thrown onto a lit stage, or capturing common subjects from unusual vantage points.
Advertising
Graphics for Ads and Posters
Event posters are one of my favorite ways to reach the public in a physical way. Social media gets the reach these days, but putting up posters in a neighborhood is becoming a lost art. It's an especially personal way to get local residents into a new local business . . . like an art gallery. Posters are a fun way to be creative, establish identity and encourage curiosity and action in a local population to explore what's new and different around them.
Animation
A creative approach to the training video
Yes, I was around when Macromedia came out with Flash, and was it fun to play with it and learn how to create motion graphics. Flash may have reached end of life, but Adobe Animate is just as fun and when I got a chance to create a animated tutorial for my 2021 employer, I jumped at it. Sound editing, music, character creation and animation, text-to-speech work graphics, and the ident (audio logo) . . . I produced the whole thing and had fun doing it.
Drawing & Illustration
Traditional drawing, sketching and illustrations
For work and sometimes just for fun, I dabble in charcoal, colored pencil and ink over watercolors mostly (though I do intend to get into painting with acrylics and oils at some point). On this page you'll see an array of different topics and styles . . . if you have a need for custom illustrations, let's talk! (Use Contact form)
